Murray Valley Disability Support

NDIS supports

What we actually do, in plain words.

A support worker helping someone in their kitchen while family look on

Personal care

Showering, dressing, and the parts of getting ready that are hard on your own. Done the way you want them done, by someone who knows you.

Help around the home

Cleaning, laundry, changing the bed, keeping the place the way you like it.

Meals and shopping

The shopping list, the trip to the supermarket, and cooking meals you actually want to eat.

Transport

Appointments, work, TAFE, and the things you do because you want to. Transport in a worker’s own vehicle is provided only where that worker’s insurance covers it; otherwise we travel with you on public transport or by taxi. Transport is usually the thing that decides whether something happens.

Getting out into the community

The gym, a class, the footy, a group, church or the mosque, a friend's place. Sometimes the worker joins in, sometimes they wait in the car. Your call.

Social support

Company. Someone to sit and talk with, or go for a walk with. For a lot of people this matters more than the housework.

Plan-managed and self-managed, in plain words

An NDIS plan is a budget. How it gets paid out depends on how the plan is managed.

Self-managed means you pay providers yourself and claim it back from the NDIS. You can use any provider you like.

Plan-managed means a plan manager pays the invoices for you, out of your budget. You can still use any provider.

Agency-managed means the NDIS pays registered providers directly.

We work with self-managed and plan-managed participants. Murray Valley Care Group Pty Ltd is not a registered NDIS provider, so we cannot take agency-managed plans.

What we do not do

Being clear about this saves everyone time.

We do not provide specialist disability accommodation, behaviour support, therapy, nursing or clinical supports, or plan management.

Who to contact instead

Your support coordinator is the fastest route to a provider who does the thing you need. If you do not have one, the NDIS is on 1800 800 110.

We are happy to talk it through on the phone even if the answer is that we are not the right service for you.
